Equipping 6 Fort Worth ISD Baseball Teams in 2025

This year, we had the incredible privilege of equipping six high school baseball teams with the resources they needed to thrive, not just on the field, but off it too. These teams—Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School, Polytechnic High School, Dunbar High School, Western Hills High School, Southwest High School, and O.D. Wyatt High School—are all part of underserved communities, where access to the equipment and training needed to excel in baseball has often been out of reach.

We know that baseball, like any sport, is about more than just the game. It’s about teamwork, discipline, growth, and character. But when you don’t have the right equipment, those values can be harder to achieve. That’s why we stepped in to provide them with new gear—bats, gloves, uniforms, and everything in between. But this effort goes far beyond the field.

We are committed to equipping these young athletes off the field too, by providing mentorship, leadership, and support that they can carry into every part of their lives. By partnering with FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) in Fort Worth, we are ensuring that these students not only grow as athletes but as individuals with strong values and a sense of purpose. Our team of mentors, including leaders in the community and ex-MLB players, is here to guide them through the challenges that life throws their way.

One of the driving forces behind this initiative is Cody Thomas, a professional baseball player & husband to our executive director, Shaley Thomas, whose passion for these young athletes runs deep. Cody always says, “When you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you play good.” It’s a simple yet powerful belief that speaks to the importance of self-confidence—something every student deserves to feel. When they take the field in brand-new, high-quality gear, it’s not just about looking sharp. It’s about feeling worthy of the opportunity, feeling proud of who they are, and believing & knowing that they have the same potential as any other player.

At the heart of our mission is the idea that these kids deserve the same opportunities as any other student, regardless of where they come from. They deserve to feel equipped—physically, mentally, and emotionally. They deserve mentors who care about their growth, coaches who are invested in their future, and a community that believes in them.

This is just the beginning. We’re not just giving them equipment, we’re giving them a future. Together, with your support, we’re empowering these young athletes to not only play the game but to win at life.

Let’s keep equipping them—on and off the field.
